As part of a progressive initiative by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), Changi Airport will introduce passport-less immigration clearance, enhancing both border security and the traveler experience through digitalization.

What’s New?

1. The New Clearance Concept (NCC): The NCC is set to revolutionize immigration with automated clearance processes. This means travelers won’t need to present their passports at all checkpoints. Singapore residents and eligible foreign travelers will benefit from smoother and faster immigration procedures.

2. Types of Passport-Less Clearance:

Token-Less Clearance at Air and Sea Checkpoints: Singapore residents (including citizens, permanent residents, and long-term pass holders) arriving or departing, along with all foreign travelers departing, will use facial and iris biometrics for immigration. No passport needed!
QR Code Clearance at Land Checkpoints: Travelers will present a QR code instead of their passport during immigration clearance. This system also allows for group QR codes, which can be reused for future trips if the travel group remains unchanged.

Token-Less Clearance Begins August 5, 2024: Starting from this date, Singapore residents arriving at Changi Airport Terminal 3 can enjoy token-less clearance.
