How to Apply VEP for Singapore Car to Malaysia: A Comprehensive Guide

If you are planning to drive your Singapore-registered car into Malaysia, it’s essential to understand the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) application process. Do I need a VEP?

  • Private Car: If you drive a Singapore-registered private car, you need to apply for a Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) and get the RFID tag by Oct 1. If the RFID tag isn’t installed by Oct 1, you can still enter Johor with a confirmation slip from your VEP application, but eventually, a tag must be installed.
  • Commercial/Government Vehicle or Motorcycle: You also need a VEP, but the RFID tag will be rolled out later.

Documents Needed for the Application
